One DNS change and your email travels protected
PostCleaner sits between the Internet and your mail server. It checks every message in layers and delivers to your door only what's clean. You install nothing.
How an email gets to your inbox
When someone writes to you, their server asks DNS where to deliver the message. With PostCleaner, the answer is our front door.
Someone writes to you
The sender's server looks up your domain's MX record to know where to send the email.
It reaches PostCleaner
Your MX points to our filter. The message arrives over a TLS-encrypted connection when the other server supports it.
It's checked in layers
Sender reputation, SPF, DKIM and DMARC, greylisting, content, links and attachments. Every message gets a score.
Clean email is delivered
PostCleaner delivers the good messages to your usual server. Your mailboxes and your programs notice nothing.
Changing the MX is easier than it sounds
The MX record is your email's "postal address" on the Internet. Changing it is a DNS setting that takes a few minutes, from wherever you manage your domain.
- You add your domain and tell us where your current mail server is.
- We give you the exact value to enter. If you like, we do it together with you.
- You replace the MX of your domain with PostCleaner's and save the change.
- Done: as soon as the change spreads across the Internet, your email goes through the filter.
| Type | Name | Priority | Destination |
|---|---|---|---|
| MX | @ | 10 | gateway.postcleaner.com |
Sample for illustration. We tell you the exact value when you add your domain and, if you already have more than one MX, which ones to remove.
What we do with each type of message
No email is treated the same. The good passes, the doubtful waits and the dangerous stays out.
Clean email
Delivered to your server right away. It lands in your inbox as usual, with no odd labels.
Doubtful email
It isn't deleted: it goes to quarantine for 14 days. You get a daily report and release it with one click if it was good.
Obvious spam
Anything clearly recognized as spam or phishing is set aside and never reaches your mailboxes.
Viruses and dangerous attachments
They're detected by the antivirus and held back. The dangerous attachment stays out of your mailboxes.
You install nothing and keep your email
PostCleaner lives in the cloud. There's no software to install on computers and no changes to your employees' mailboxes.
Plesk and cPanel
Perfect for hosting and your own servers: the filter sits in front and your server keeps receiving just as before.
Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace
Your cloud mailboxes stay where they are. Only the route your email takes before reaching them changes.
Exchange, Zimbra and others
If your server receives email over SMTP, it works with PostCleaner. Whatever program you use.

What people usually worry about before changing the MX
What if the filter goes down? Do I lose email?
Nothing is lost. Legitimate mail servers retry delivery for days when they can't deliver a message. As soon as the service is back, the email arrives.
Does email take longer to arrive?
Usually it takes seconds. The exception is the first email from a new sender: because of greylisting, it can take a few minutes. The next ones arrive with no wait.
Can I go back?
Yes. Just set the MX record back to its previous value. There's nothing installed to uninstall.
How long until the change takes effect?
It depends on how long DNS takes to propagate, usually from a few minutes to a few hours. During that time email keeps arriving, sometimes by the old route and sometimes by the new one.
Do I have to change my mailboxes or my programs?
No. Same accounts, same passwords and same email programs. Your employees keep working as always.
Will you help me make the change?
Of course. We give you the exact value and, if you prefer, we do it together with you step by step, with no rush and in your language.
Change one record and relax
We're with you through setup and the MX change. In minutes, your email is already traveling protected.
